July Briefing From JPIT

New briefing - Made for Goodness: A faithful response to the refugee crisis

From the July edition of the Praxis Newsletter published by JPIT

What has caused the refugee crisis?
What does scripture have to say about movement and migration?
Does Brexit affect our responsibilities to protect refugees?

Download our new resource ‘Made for Goodness’ which explores all of these questions, unpacking the origins, facts and realities of the humanitarian catastrophe that is affecting 65million people worldwide.  Use it to preach, discuss and stimulate debate within your Church about what more the UK needs to do to address this crisis.

We are also inviting you to write to the new Home Secretary, Amber Rudd, reminding her of the UK’s legal and ethical duty to protect and support refugees in light of Brexit. We want to see Ms Rudd make clear that the UK is committed to extending its resettlement targets to include non-Syrians, and to make special provisions for at least 3000 of an estimated 90,000 unaccompanied minors who find themselves vulnerable to trafficking and exploitation at the hands of criminal gangs. Download the postcard.
